Get to work on the 5 Marketing Tasks I previously outlined OR at least arm yourself with knowledge.
One HUGE piece of knowledge you should be made aware of pertains to your WEBSITE (point #2 of the 5 Tasks).
I tried to purchase one of the 4 largest non-automotive website providers in the Canadian market last summer (that’s a story for another time – and after I check my NDA!!), I worked for another AND I have clients that utilize all 4; so, I’m pretty informed.
Your website needs to be doing 4 things for you:
- Saving you MONEY
- Saving you TIME
- Making you MONEY
- Building your BRAND
Of the 4 current options available to you, 2 of them are extremely similar and do a great job at #2, do well on #3 and #4 but drop the ball completely on #1. One of the other options is pretty ‘meh’ across the board by either being just okay or dropping the ball on all four points. The final option, is okay on #1 (although with its recent 33% increase it used to be great) and #2. #3 is weak to poor, as is #4.
Two of the options are US based so by the Dollar dropping below 70 cents AND a new feature automatically being added to your monthly invoice for at least one of them (unless you opt-out) April 1, you’ll be spending around $622 Canadian per month on your website – almost $7500 PER YEAR. That’s WAY too much – no matter what they are delivering to you.
There must be a better way… through the grapevine I’ve heard of a solution that is coming to market sometime in 2020. I’m not directly involved but after mid July I’ll be able to find out more information for you if you’re interested.
